Designations of Origin

In Spain there are currently more than fifty wine Designations of Origin, with their corresponding Regulator Board, corporate institutions created by the Wine Statute of 1932, the same with the goal of integrating the wine interests and wineries in each area of production. This original idea has been maintained with the passing of time, aiming its functions towards the scope of product certification and the promotion of the wines.

Each Designation of Origin has a Regulation in which all the standards that the vines and wines must comply with are dictated, clearly defining their geographical extension.

In Castilla-La Mancha there are currently nine Designations of Origin.
